"Shambhala Art" by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, March 2004 The calligraphy was created by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. It is based on the Shambhala Art symbol. Within the symbol the square represents earth, the circle refers to water, the semi-circle is fire, the triangle is air, and the dot in the center is space. In the calligraphy by Rinpoche, the center dot has been replaced with an Ashe stroke and the seed syllable Ah. The stroke of Ashe embodies a stroke of confidence and is based on the first downward stroke one makes to create the first letter of the alphabet. The seed syllable Ah is the mother of all written and spoken syllables. It is identified with speech or communication. It is also said to be the first sound we make when we are born and the last sound we make when we die. Overall dimensions are 38" x 78". White silk. The off-white pattern on the top and bottom of the banner consists of a square, a circle, a triangle and a semi-circle representing the four form elements. Estimated price from Shambhala Banners is $265USD / $300 CAD (It is estimated as a preproduction price.) To place your preproduction order please contact firstthought@shambhalaart.org |
