Shambhala Art Intensive: All Five Parts Los Angeles 2012

Bonus Day, January 9 Field Trip to a museum to engage in contemplative viewing.  (Available to only graduates and teachers of the Shambhala Art program.  No charge for this event.  Exact time and location to be announced.)

Available to all, no prerequisites. However, participants may not skip any part and continue with the intensive. A list of recommended readings will be supplied on registration.

Teachers:

VCTR and Steven SSteven Saitzyk is the Director of Shambhala Art International and one of the founders of the current Shambhala Art Program. He is an Adjunct Professor at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California. He is also a painter and published author. He began his studies of Dharma Art and Iconography with Chögyam Trungpa in 1974 and since has taught internationally. (Picture of Chögyam Trungpa & Steven Saitzyk in 1981)

Marcia SMarcia Shibata began her study of Japanese flower arranging and the practice of meditation in 1974, when she became a student of Chögyam Trungpa, who was also a flower arranging master from the Sogetsu school. She holds a high degree from the oldest classical school of Ikenobo called Junkakyo.

Price: (Tentative Pricing) $465US and $395US for members of the Los Angeles Shambhala Meditation Center, seniors 65+, and full-time students. Materials fee of approximately $15 will be assessed at the beginning of the program. Participants may not skip any part and continue with the intensive. A list of readings will be supplied on registration.

A registration form will be offer 6 months in advance.  Note: If you are flying in from out-of-town, we highly recommend Burbank airport, over LAX.  The Los Angeles Shambhala Center is actually in Eagle Rock which is on the eastern edge of Los Angeles and LAX is on the western edge of Los Angeles some thirty miles away.
