Shambhala Art Teacher Intensive with Acharya Arawana Hayashi

Program Dates: Sept. 22 thru lunch Sept. 24, 2010

Location: Karme Choling, Barnet, Vermont.

Shambhala Art teachers are warmly invited and strongly encouraged to attend this year’s East Coast Shambhala Art Teachers Intensive at Karmê Chöling beginning on the evening of Wednesday, September 22 and ending with lunch on Friday, September 24th. This precedes the Shambhala Art Parts 1-3 which starts September 24 and ends on the 29th.

This retreat is an opportunity for Shambhala Art teachers to:

  1. deepen our understanding of the teachings given by the Vidyadara, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche on perception, the creative process and art.
  2. provide an opportunity for peer-to-peer learning with colleagues.
  3. provide an arena for conversation on how we are integrating these teachings into the Way of Shambhala curriculum that is being offered now at all of the Shambhala meditation centers.
  4. There will be some formal presentations and discussions, but primarily it will be an opportunity for teachers to present exercises and art practices that bring the essence of these powerful teachings to life, and to exchange practices and insights.

Program details to the announced.  It is traditional for students to offer a monetary gift to the teacher in appreciation for receiving the teachings, and in recognition of the years of training and understanding the teacher has cultivated. There will be an opportunity to offer a teaching gift at the program.

About Acharya Arawana Hayashi: Acharya Arawana Hayashi is a dancer, choreographer and meditation teacher, and a student of both Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. She founded the Jo Ha Kyu Performance Group in Boston, and pioneered the Embodied Presence program. Acharya Hayashi teaches meditation programs all over the world, and sits on the faculty at the Presencing Institute in Cambridge, the Authentic Leadership Program at Naropa University, the Shambhala Institute for Authentic Leadership in Halifax, and the Mukpo Institute at Karmê Chöling. She also serves on the Sakyong’s Council and is Chair of the Shambhala Arts Council.
