“It is very important to realize how powerful all of us are. What we are doing may seem insignificant, but this notion of dharma art will be like an atomic bomb you carry in your mind. You could play a tremendous role in developing peace throughout the world.”
-Vidyadara, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
Shambhala Art teachers are warmly invited and strongly encouraged to attend this year’s East Coast Shambhala Art Teachers Intensive at Karmê Chöling beginning on the evening of Wednesday, September 22 and ending with lunch on Friday, September 24th. This precedes the Shambhala Art Parts 1-3 which starts September 24 and ends on the 29th.
This retreat is an opportunity for Shambhala Art teachers to:
- deepen our understanding of the teachings given by the Vidyadara, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche on perception, the creative process and art.
- provide an opportunity for peer-to-peer learning with colleagues.
- provide an arena for conversation on how we are integrating these teachings into the Way of Shambhala curriculum that is being offered now at all of the Shambhala meditation centers.
There will be some formal presentations and discussions, but primarily it will be an opportunity for teachers to present exercises and art practices that bring the essence of these powerful teachings to life, and to exchange practices and insights.
Program Price: $275
Please Note: Price includes meals but not accommodations. This program is restricted to only authorized Shambhala Art Teachers. Program details to the announced. It is traditional for students to offer a monetary gift to the teacher in appreciation for receiving the teachings, and in recognition of the years of training and understanding the teacher has cultivated.
