Shambhala Art Teachers’ Training for Parts 4 & 5

Nov. 5-7, 2010.  Friday & Saturday 9:30am-5:30pm, Sunday 9:30-5.

This teachers training is a rare opportunity for authorized Shambhala Art Teachers of Parts 1-3 to upgrade their authorization to include Parts 4-5.  We have had only one other such training with in the past 10 years. It is also an opportunity for all teachers to fulfill their requirement to attend either one Shambhala Art Teachers Retreat or one Teachers’ Training every 2 years.  Because this is very concentrated program, you must attend the entire program to receive your authorization. (If you are arriving from out-of-town, please plan to arriving the night before. Also, please do not plan on leaving the program until after 5pm Sunday.)

PREREQUISITES: You must be an authorized Shambhala Art teacher of parts 1-3 to attend this program.  (Note: although you do not need to have attended Shambhala Vajrayana Seminar to attend this training, you will need to complete Vajrayana Seminary to receive your authorization to teach parts 4-5. You also need to be on a path to became a Shambhala Guide and then a Shambhala Meditation instructor. You must also have some teaching experience with parts 1-3 before teaching parts 4-5.)

Cost: $275 (plus a possible $10 materials fee). This does not include meals. (A 50% deposit is required Oct. 1.  It is non-refundable unless the program is canceled.)

Shambhala Art Intensive 2010 Los Angeles Part 2

Part 2 of 3 of the Shambhala Art Five Part Intensive 2010 in Los Angeles. This video shows the Director of Shambhala Art International, Steven Saitzyk,demonstrating object arranging as a means to explore one’s felt sense and thought sense of the Principles of Space, Form, and Energy.  This is followed by participant examples and an introduction to the Five Elements as a means to further explore the phenomenal world as part of one’s creative process.

Shambhala Art Intensive 2010 Los Angeles Part 3

Part 3 of 3 of the Shambhala Art Five Part Intensive 2010 Los Angeles. In this video we see participants continue to create arrangements based on some of the Elements.  This is followed Steven Saitzyk and Marcia Shibata demonstrating the use of the Four Actions in the creative process. What follows this is a collaborative exercise where all the participants create four installations as an expression of what they have learned. It is called the “Feast of the Five Elements.” The installations include objects, food, and drink that embody the Elements and their Actions. On completion, the food and drink are consumed during a celebration that includes brief performances and readings.
